We would like to send you our warmest Christmas greetings. Despite the many crises, we wish you a peaceful and relaxing holiday season. <\/p>\n\n

As the year draws to a close, we would like to give you an overview of some of our activities this year. At the beginning of the year, we completely revamped our software solution and have now also integrated the first version of our automatic fawn detection system<\/strong>. We won the 20th OZ Start-up Award<\/strong> and have been committed to wildlife and species conservation<\/strong> worldwide (more on this below). <\/p>\n\n

Thank you for your trust and we wish you a great start to 2023! We look forward to continuing to shape the future of wildlife rescue with you. <\/p>\n\n

POIStudio Automatically Detects Fawns<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

At the beginning of the year, we released our completely revamped software package for wildlife rescue. The POIStudio<\/strong> software and smartphone app now enable image optimisation and GPS search with almost all thermal imaging drones on the market. <\/p>\n\n

In December, we reached the next milestone: the latest version of POIStudio<\/strong> uses artificial intelligence to detect fawns fully automatically<\/strong>. The first version of the automatic system will be available to our customers next year. This will make fawn rescue with the Flying Wildlife Rescuer and, for example, the new DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise Thermal <\/strong>even more efficient. <\/p>\n\n

Automatic detection is another step towards our goal of creating the technical basis for wildlife protection across 2 million hectares<\/strong> in Germany. Our project is a joint venture<\/strong> that relies on the support of you, our customers. Every animal you save contributes to the future rescue of fawns through automation. Thank you<\/strong> for your trust, even in turbulent times, and for your support in achieving this goal. <\/p>\n\n

OZ Start-up Award 2022<\/span><\/h3>\n\n

We have won the 20th OZ Start-up Award. In November, Tobias accepted the main prize donated by the Ostsee Zeitung newspaper and Basislager Rostock.We are delighted to receive this award, which recognises an achievement that we have accomplished together with our employees, our fawn rescue team and, above all, with the support of our customers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are Committed to Wildlife Conservation Worldwide<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n

Our commitment naturally includes fawn rescue<\/strong>, which we carry out together with volunteers across more than 3,000 hectares. With three flying wildlife rescuers, we were on duty for the animals throughout the season in northern Germany and Bavaria. On some days, we were joined by customers. Another highlight was our collaboration with the species conservation organisation BINCO. We supported BINCO in protecting bonobos in the Democratic Republic of Congo and pig-tailed muntjacs in Cambodia. We co-published an article<\/a> on detecting bonobos with the help of POIStudio. In Brandenburg, we have been supporting the AG Wiesenweihenschutz <\/strong>(Montagu’s Harrier Protection Working Group) since 2018. In June, we spent two days helping to locate nests. These are extremely rare. Once the territory is known, the nests are easy to find using drones. With our app, ornithologists can then locate the nests with pinpoint accuracy and erect protective fencing. <\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We have been supervising theses<\/strong> on wildlife and species conservation for many years. This year, we supervised several theses at Munich University of Applied Sciences with a technological focus and a master’s thesis on the Eurasian curlew, supporting them by conducting aerial surveys and providing drones. Working together to advance wildlife conservation in 2023<\/span><\/h3>\n\n

The coming year will bring significant innovations such as automatic detection of fawns in our software and new features in our app. The next milestone we are working on is integrating the automatic system into the drone. <\/p>\n\n

An important issue for us as retailers is, of course, our public relations work, which we need to improve. We will revamp our website<\/a> and share our expertise on fawn rescue in articles posted there. <\/p>\n\n
