On 14 October 2026, DJI Enterprise unveiled the new Dock 4. It is DJI's first dock that swaps the drone's battery by itself. It comes with a new drone, the DJI Matrice 5TD with a thermal camera.

What's new about the DJI Dock 4?
The Dock 4 is DJI's first dock with automatic battery swapping. A swap takes about 25 seconds, after which the drone can take off again straight away. Instead of charging for half an hour, it stays in service. During the swap, the dock downloads the data from the previous flight.
Which drone flies with the Dock 4?
The DJI Matrice 5TD. Its thermal camera has 1280 × 1024 pixels, four times as many as the Matrice 4TD. It also carries a wide-angle camera, new RYYB telephoto cameras with up to 11x zoom for better images even at night, and a laser rangefinder with a range of up to 3 km. A flight lasts up to 59 minutes, measured without payload and without wind.
How fast does the drone reach the scene?
Once a task is sent from the cloud, the drone takes off from the dock immediately, with no one needed on site. On its way to a target point it flies at up to 21 m/s, around 75 km/h. Latency between drone and cloud is about 160 milliseconds, so the incident commander sees the live feed with almost no delay. Dual SIM keeps the mobile connection stable.
How does the Dock 4 help with search and rescue?
The Matrice 5TD combines thermal imaging, full-colour night vision and AI that recognises 17 object types in the live feed. Point the laser at a spot and its distance and coordinates appear right in the live view. For night searches, a speaker, spotlight and parachute can be mounted at the same time.
Does the Dock 4 fly in wind and cold?
The Matrice 5TD takes off, lands and flies in winds of up to 12 m/s. If the wind picks up on the way back, it descends and returns at a lower altitude. The dock itself operates from −40 °C to 50 °C, pre-heats the batteries in the cold and uses air conditioning in the heat.
What safety features does the Dock 4 have?
The DJI AP1 parachute comes as standard. With it, the Matrice 5TD meets the requirements of EU classes C5 and C6 for the standard scenarios STS-01 and STS-02. A LiDAR sensor improves obstacle detection, and a built-in ADS-B receiver warns of nearby crewed aircraft with ADS-B transmitters. Custom flight zones keep the drone within the approved area.
What's included in the DJI Dock 4 Combo?
The combo includes the Dock 4, a Matrice 5TD, the DJI O4 Ground Station, the AP1 parachute and four batteries. The ground station is required to operate the dock. To get a quote for your operations, use the form below.
How does the Dock 4 connect to the POICloud?
The Dock 4 doesn't only work with DJI FlightHub 2. It can also be connected to cloud platforms from other providers. That is the basis for its integration into the POICloud, which is already prepared.
